Description:
Another unique elbaite-combination: Colorzoned and lustrous, well terminated elbaite crystals up to 2.8 cm in length - freestanding on a single, sharp edged and transparent rock crystal in a size of 5 cm. The elbaite crystals have a dark green body coloration and ends up into yellowish-green- to colorless-zoned terminations.
All elbaite crystals - except one very small crystal on the specimens back - are perfectly terminated or recrystallized / self healed. The rock crystal shows very lustrous crystal faces but is not complete all around - which does not affect the appearance of this unique elbaite specimen.
All in all a superb quartz-tourmaline combination which speaks for its own. The specimen was found this year in Stak Nala, Haramosh Mts., Skardu District, Baltistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan.
